At the peak of Raymond and Olivia's affair, the two lovers walk the Budapest streets in fear of being recognized yet at the same time emboldened by that same fear. Raymond pulls Olivia into his apartment to show her his place for the first time. She sees the landscape of books and becomes overwhelmed by the immensity of art and writing that is adorned throughout the place. He reads excerpts from a novel entitled "Heaven" to her while a low fire is lit. Impressed, she asks to come to his place daily to organize his writing; moreover, she hopes to borrow some of his books. Weakened by her tender admiration, he concedes, something he promised to himself that he would never do since destructive relationship with Hannah Apel.
