This is our 17th release in 18 months. The creative flora and fauna is beginning to wane, thankfully. These tracks were unyielding and disagreeable. I couldn't walk away from them, however.

I covered Rusted Shut's "Fuck It" because it is one of my all-time favorite songs. Years ago, I watched Rusted Shut perform at Pik-n-Pak with Brown Paper Dog. By the end of the evening, I began composing my best impressions of Rusted Shut's music. Each song sounded like a poor copy, but my success wasn't based on how well I imitated their style; my success was that I had figured out what made them work, and ultimately realized that I couldn't emulate their greatness. I had several of their releases on vinyl, but flood damage a few years back claimed those cherished records.

The Minor Threat cover is a joke. Ha ha. I could wax artistically pretentious and say, "Our cover is a mere abstraction of the original abrasive track that comments on albums that possess 'filler'." I will spare you.

We are planning a conventional album to be out in November. By conventional, I mean drums, guitar, bass, keyboards, vocals, and loops galore. In the meantime, I will continue to release songs in
small batches and we will keep struggling to get booked for shows. An aside: it isn't my fault that so many of my acquaintances are parents and find it difficult to come to our shows. We aren't the best act live, but it shouldn't keep us off of rosters for shows around town. Off soapbox.

Finally, we are grateful to those who have nominated us for The Houston Press Music Awards. We realize our chances of winning are slim, especially considering the competition is relentlessly talented and the small fact that we are not playing the showcase. And to those of you who voted for us, don't feel like you've wasted your vote, like the 2000 election when many of you principled folk voted for Ralph Nader. We are happy that you feel our album is better than the four albums and one e.p. on the list. Thank you for your support.

Keep downloading, too. These items will be free until I say otherwise. I have over 100 songs on Bandcamp that you can download to your heart's delight. There are some physical items coming up for sale in August, so keep checking this page and spring for some musical oddities.
